May '06 hike in the Mournes
Monday May 2006 11:27 PM
Another great
hike - thanks to the members of the
Dublin gay hiking group
for
letting us tag along! This was a pretty strenuous
walk as predicted, with the group splitting into
three smaller groups each taking slightly
different routes depending on energy levels and
experience. Photos from this hike have been added
to the May 06 album.
I was a bit disappointed to see so much rubbish left behind after our lunch break though - I know that things like banana skins, sandwich crusts and the like are biodegradable but they're still litter: how would you like it if somebody threw them in your front garden? Please remember to bring all your lunch remains home with you, and leave the mountains the way you found them.

Site updated
Thursday May 2006 12:15 AM
I've updated
the calendar to feature explanations of the three
basic difficulty levels of the walks we organise.
I've tried to be as general as possible but if anyone
has any suggestions that could improve or clarify
this section I'd appreciate your feedback.
New web site almost complete
Saturday May 2006 04:56 PM
Didn't I tell
you I'd get around to it eventually? There's still a
lot of work to be done and a number of pages yet to
be added, but everything is coming along nicely (I
think!). There are bound to be a few teething
problems so please try to be patient as I get used to
the new system.
A few people have asked me why I'm changing the site so radically, as there was nothing wrong with it before. The main problem was that it took several hours work to update anything: this new structure will make it much easier for me to keep everything up-to-date. Fingers crossed!
