Out'n'About Big Night Out Coming Soon…

Our annual
excuse for gluttony and excess (like I need and
excuse) is scheduled for Friday 16th November 2007.
I've provisionally booked a table for the group in
Café India, an excellent little Indian restaurant on
the Malone Road, and I need everybody who's
interested to send me an email so I can arrange for
the correct number of seats to be set aside for us.
To register your interest, send me an email with "Night Out" in the subject line so I can easily spot the appropriate emails and get back to you with details. Obviously there will be limited seat availability so the sooner you send me an email the more likely you are to get a seat!

The King is Dead, Long Live the Queen…

Hi Folks,
Sorry for the lack of updates for the last few weeks (okay, months) but I'm just back from a nice long holiday and I needed a few days to recover from jet-lag. There have been a few changes to the Board of Out & About, the main one being that Neil, our Lord and Master and the man responsible for getting the hiking group up and running in the first place, has decided to step down. Neil has done a great job over the last few years and it's mainly due to him that I have any friends at all outside of work!
At our last AGM in September, Colin was unanimously voted in to fill Neil's shoes and already he's whipping us into shape (ouch, not so hard, Colin!). The calendar of events for 2008 is almost finalised and will be published here on this site in the next few weeks. You may also have noticed that he has introduced a monthly newsletter (issue #1 appeared in my inbox on 17th October) and I've no doubt he has a few more ideas to spring on us when least expected…
